Privacy Policy

  1. This site uses software that collect standard bits of information on consumers or visitors who browse this Web page like IP addresses, browser or referrer information etc. However, these are for the purposes of knowing how best to tune my site for your maximum benefit. IP address logging is standard, but it doesn’t tell me where you live exactly. It does not pinpoint my visitor’s location, so do not be afraid.
  2. I currently use any and/or all combinations of StatCounter, Google Analytics, QuantCast and Woopra to track and analyze my website statistics. These are external sites and you’re welcome read their privacy policies to see what information they collect. At Jane Talks Tech!, we recognize that privacy of your personal information is important. Here is information on what types of personal information we receive and collect when you use visit, and how I safeguard your information. I never sell your personal information to third parties.
    • Log Files: As with most other websites, we collect and use the data contained in log files. The information in the log files include your IP (internet protocol) address, your ISP (internet service providee), the browser you used to visit our site, the time you visited our site and which pages you visited throughout our site.
    • Cookies and Web Beacons: Cookies are used to store information, such as your personal preferences when you visit my site. Third party advertisements are used on to support this site. Some of these advertisers may use technology such as cookies and web beacons when they advertise on this site, which will also send these advertisers (such as Google through the Google AdSense program) information including your IP address, your ISP , the browser you used to visit our site, and in some cases, whether you have Flash installed. This is generally used for geo-targeting purposes (showing Georgia real estate ads to someone in Georgia, for example) or showing certain ads based on specific sites visited (such as showing cooking ads to someone who frequents cooking sites).
    • You can chose to disable or selectively turn off cookies or third-party cookies in your browser settings, or by managing preferences in programs like anti-spyware or anti-malware security tools. However, this may affect how you are able to interact with our site as well as other websites. This could include the inability to login to services or programs, such as logging into forums or accounts.
  3. If you supply me with your postal address on-line, you do so at your own risk, and you will only receive the information for which you provided me your address upon approval by the webmistress. Persons who supply me with their telephone numbers on-line do so at their own risk, and will only receive telephone contact from us with information they have asked for.
  4. If any of the visitors is aware of any article, picture, or item that is on this site, and is being used without permission from the original author or obtained illegally, contact Jane using the provided contact form.
  5. All links to external sites do not imply an explicit endorsement by me i.e. use at your own risk. Some or all of these sites have served me well, but different strokes for different folks. I hope they will serve you well in the same way they have served me very well. I do not accept any liability by way of financial loss, personal harm or whatever because I put up some sites I thought might be good. Please make sure you visit their privacy policies to learn what they keep about you.
  6. I am also enrolled in the Amazon Associates program. From time to time, I will insert my affiliate ID into pertinent links leading to where I receive credit for sending visitors over. Visit Amazon’s privacy policy for users with such concerns.
  7. From time to time, I may acquire information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in this privacy notice. If my information practices change at some time in the future, the changes will be posted on my site. I reserve the right to make changes to this policy. If you wish to be notified specifically of changes to this policy, subscribe to the RSS feed for this page. I will also make an announcement on the website about changes.
  8. I will post the policy changes to my Web site to notify you of these changes. If you are concerned about how information is used, you should check back at my Web site periodically, I will use for these new purposes only data collected from the time of the policy change forward.
  9. Email addresses used to register for my blog (should registration be open) are protected and will never be sold, rented, or given to anyone. Consumers may prevent their information from being used for purposes other than those for which it was originally collected by contacting the webmistress.
  10. Upon request, I will provide site visitors with access to all information [including proprietary information] that I may have had about them (e.g. communications that the consumer/visitor has directed to our site (e.g., e-mails, customer inquiries), contact information (e.g., name, address, phone number). I don’t collect financial information (e.g., credit card account information), unique identifier information (e.g., customer number or password), transaction information (e.g., dates on which customers made purchases, amounts and types of purchases).
  11. Consumers can access this information by e-mailing me via the contact form. Upon request, I offer visitors the ability to have inaccuracies corrected in contact information, communications that the consumer/visitor has directed to the site. Consumers can have this information corrected by writing to ME.
